New Acoustic MusicNew acoustic music – correct case for music genre Faheyer (talk) 07:53, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). 178.164.162.144 (talk) 09:41, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've contested this to decide if it should be "New Acoustic music" or "New acoustic music". Sources are scarce, but the title "New Acoustic" with capitals seems more common than in lower case. Of course "music" should be lower case. 178.164.162.144 (talk) 09:41, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Support. "New Acoustic music" doesn't even register with Google ngrams, and a general books search shows the term used more commonly in lower case. 178.164.162.144 (talk) 09:49, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you no longer contest this, then I recommend you withdraw it. -- /Alex/21 10:03, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry @Alex 21: I would have done, but was not sure if that would mess things up. 178.164.162.144 (talk) 13:19, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Obsolete?

[edit]

Is the term "new acoustic music" even still used? I haven't heard it since the 1980s.

Always thought it was one of those "transitional" terms that people used before another term came along and "stuck" -- kind of like how "dawg music" was hip for a couple of years, before it got subsumed and replaced by the term "newgrass". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.43.253 (talk) 21:31, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
